Cranbrook Academy of Art
During my time in Cranbrook’s 2D Design Department, a self-directed MFA program focused on independent exploration, I worked on intensive projects and regular peer critiques that encouraged experimentation and critical dialogue.
For each critique, I wrote an in-depth analyses and then designed, produced, and printed a graphic booklet for every student within 48-72 hours. These booklets documented and responded to each project and served as a fast-paced exercise in visual communication and editorial design. The critique process emphasized professional growth, encouraging refinement of work through thoughtful feedback and critical reflection.
Each project was also accompanied by an artist statement, presented as a graphic design piece.
